I have found out there has been an issue with the website registration. When users registered for the website, they would not receive the confirmation email that let them set their password. This has since been fixed. If you cannot login to your account because of this issue, please fill out the contact form here with the email address that you used to sign up, and the username you used. If you cannot remember both of those pieces of information, I will do my best to help.
Also the NYSCA forums have been updated. The old forum system required users to sign up for a separate NYSCA forums account. It was also filled with spam because the account sign up for the old forum software was very easily successfully completed by spambots. This new forum system is integrated with the NYSCA website so you do not have to create a separate account to use the forums. The registration system that our main website uses is very robust, making it difficult for spammers to create an account.
Finally a newsletter for NYSCA has been created. This newsletter should send you an email every time we post to the NYSCA website. These posts will include the Empire Chess magazine, website updates, and other chess news. While you can follow us on relevant social media platforms, due to the way posts are filtered we are not able to reach very many of our followers. Therefore, if you want to make sure you receive all of our updates, the newsletter is the best option.
